The Historic Burgaw Depot Preservation Foundation is excited about another opportunity to raise money for the preservation of North Carolina’s most treasured historic structure—The Historic Burgaw Depot, the oldest train depot in our state. Built circa 1850, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
On June 20 and 21, 2008 in affiliation with the 5th Annual NC Blueberry Festival, the Foundation is sponsoring an antique show and sale at the Depot as its 2nd annual fundraising event. Quality dealers from throughout the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia have been invited to participate.
We are happy to be affiliated with the Blueberry Festival as last year it drew more than 25,000 persons and this year’s festival promises to be even more successful. In addition to the antique show, other events will include live outdoor entertainment featuring local bands. Lining the Courthouse Square will be vendors in art, crafts, jewelry, glass, wood, beading and food. A golf tournament, 5K run, a bike race, bbq cook off. antique car show, beer and wine garden and activities for children round out the 2 day festivities.
Your support will play a major role in helping us make this event a successful venture to benefit the citizens of North Carolina. By preserving this structure we save a part of our proud heritage and pass it on to the coming generations.
